Heath's big adventure

So this week my neighbor asked Heath if he would be willing to teach the cub scouts how to play chess for pack meeting. I was a little surprised at his willingness to participate.
However, back in June he purchased a Mega Chess set(the Kings are 2 ft. tall) with plans to build a chess board on our back patio.
He decided it would be great if he used these pieces to teach the kids. Great idea honey. Only one small problem...he didn't have a board. Well he was at work when all this went down, and I think it distracted him from getting anything done the rest of the day. He came home Thursday night and had to look online more to find just the right board. No luck. -they have some, but we weren't willing to pay the price!
(FYI if you want a really nice giant board, you can spend up to $800!)
Well on Friday night we went to Lowe's to check out our options that way, and we found a solution. But, Hailee was in need of a major diaper change and we had no diapers-so we decided to sleep on the idea and come back Saturday.
We ended up purchasing stick on tiles and particle board and spent Saturday night peeling and sticking.
Here is the final result...
Heath is so excited to finally be able to play with his pieces!

Latest update

Hailee went to the doctor on Thursday for her 18 month appt.
SHe is doing well. He was very impressed with her abilities, as am I. I think sometimes that she is growing up too fast!
Her stats are

33 1/2 inches-93%
24.8 lbs-50%
47 7/8 head-80%

So from this information we can gather that she is tall and skinny and smart! Oh how we love her!

I went the doctor on Friday (today) and he said I was dilated to a 3 almost a 4. Not effaced and his head still had to drop a bit-but hey that's progress. He could come anytime!

More info to come, I'm sure!

Christmas, New Years and everything else!

Obviously I'm behind, but I hope you enjoy the post-with lots of pictures!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. We went to Logan and everyone in the Hall family was able to attend. My favorite part was watching Hailee and Dustin open their presents. Dustin seems to have a long attention span and enjoyed one present at a time-finally opening his last present sometime around lunch!
Hailee must have a shorter attention span because she was more than willing to come pull paper off more presents and play with it for a few minutes!

For Christmas this year I got a really nice camera-a Canon SX10IS! It's digital, fast, and has more features than I have figured out how to use-I've already taken over 200 pictures-it was hard not to include more on this post!
Heath got a shotgun and was able to shoot it this weekend up in Logan with Nathan and his dad. He really enjoyed it and was glad to finally be able to shoot something besides my camera!
Hailee got spoiled and loved every minute. She got puzzles, signing time, shoes (which she wants to wear all the time), a basketball stand, magna-doodle, doll and stroller, stick horse, doctor kit, and probably more that I'm forgetting! It was a great chance for me to hide some of her old toys so they'll be fun again for her and the baby.
-Oh and she gave me the movie Kung Fu Panda, but I think she only did that cuz she wanted it. Everyday she sits on the luv sac and pulls up and blanket at either signs Panda or says "Po".

New Years was spent at my mom's house, my sister Becca and her family were finally able to make it down from Boise-the roads have been closed.
It was a fun night we had yummy soup for dinner and played games and just hung out and ate treats. One of the games was Twister-they talked me into playing-but after one round I was out, I just can't bend that way. Hailee also wanted to play and got really upset anytime we all got on the mat and she couldn't have it to herself. Luckily Grandma still has her mat-so Hailee got a twister mat all to herself-and she is pretty good for a first time twister player!
It was so fun to see our cousins. Hailee and Savanah finally warmed up to each other and really enjoyed dancing and loving each other. Uncle Heath was also getting some New Years kisses from someone other than me-he thought it was so great that Savanah would willingly kiss him over and over-Hailee doesn't even do that!

Then for a late Allred Christmas party-early Chinese New Year, we got together in Logan and ate yummy chinese food and visited with the Allred family. Hailee enjoyed the nursery toys and taking Uncle Nate's basketball away from him-just look at her defend that ball! She had fun playing with her cousin Dustin too-even if he thought she didn't go down the slide fast enough! My only regret was not getting enough tiny spicy chicken the first time through the line-by the time I made it back for 2nd's it was gone-and there was a ton to start with! An Allred favorite for sure!

And finally everything else!

I tried braids in Hailee's hair-they turned out really cute. Then she took a nap. When she woke up I couldn't resist taking this picture-she looks like a reindeer!

Hailee has two favorite spots to watch movies, the luv sac and the couch. She obviously doesn't like to be bothered when she is into her show!

So not only does she love her new shoes. She loves wearing gloves and will ask me to help her put them on at least once a day, then run around happy as can be.

I asked Aunt Mindy if she could make Hailee a winter hat. She did a great job, isn't it soooo cute!
