However, back in June he purchased a Mega Chess set(the Kings are 2 ft. tall) with plans to build a chess board on our back patio.
He decided it would be great if he used these pieces to teach the kids. Great idea honey. Only one small problem...he didn't have a board. Well he was at work when all this went down, and I think it distracted him from getting anything done the rest of the day. He came home Thursday night and had to look online more to find just the right board. No luck. -they have some, but we weren't willing to pay the price!
(FYI if you want a really nice giant board, you can spend up to $800!)
Well on Friday night we went to Lowe's to check out our options that way, and we found a solution. But, Hailee was in need of a major diaper change and we had no diapers-so we decided to sleep on the idea and come back Saturday.
We ended up purchasing stick on tiles and particle board and spent Saturday night peeling and sticking.
Here is the final result...
Heath is so excited to finally be able to play with his pieces!

Nice chess board. The scouts are going to be SO excited!! Does this mean the back patio is out for a giant chess board now?
Hey stephanie. I found your blog through Jeremy and Taryn. It sounds like things are going well for you and you family. Matt was jealous of the chess board. He loves to play chess. If Health needs someone to play against have him give Matt a call.
Sorry I spelled Heath's name wrong. I was not paying attention. please forgive me!
Congrats on the new baby! We're excited to meet him!
