Spencer's Blessing

Today was Spencer's blessing day and he was such a good boy. No crying or fussing-he did great! It was such a special day and we are grateful for all of our family support. We were so glad to have so many family members come and share this special day with us. We Love all of our family! I also want to thank Spencer's Grandma's. Grandma Hall made his blessing suit and Grandma Gardner made his blanket. As you can see they both turned out so beautiful. Thank You! It's always fun to get together with family. Hailee loves playing with her cousin Dustin and was VERY VERY sad when he had to leave...she was having so much fun. I'm just not sure who was having more fun-the two year olds or the adults? (p.s. make sure the sound is on when you watch)

Happy Birthday Grandpa Great

Four Generations (Heath has a picture like this when he was a baby. It is so neat to have four generations together!)

On Saturday we went to Plain City to celebrate Grandpa Greats 80th birthday!
We had such a great time. Hailee came in a little crabby and tired, but eventually warmed up and had a great time. She played lots of games with the help of Grandpa. She played the bean bag toss, and she hula hooped and she won gumballs and loved to stick them in other peoples mouths (thankfully not her own!). Her favorite thing to do was play with the Hula Hoops...until Aunt Sharon gave her a cooking set, now she loves to cook! -Thanks again Sharon!

Grandpa we love you so much and we are so glad we are part of such a wonderful family. I didn't share my memory at the party so I'll share now. The first time I met all of Heath's extended family was at Grandpa's birthday party before we were married. Now we are married and have two kids and I have felt welcomed as one of the Grandkids the entire time-so thanks for loving me.
I also remember I once told Grandpa how cool his bright yellow socks were-that go up to his knee, and the next time I went to Reed's house there was a pair waiting for me from Grandpa-I still have 'em Grandpa!
We love you and wish you 'many more birthdays!'

Look at me, I'm six weeks old today!

Bad parenting 101?

So Hailee loves to watch movies-and I let her. Probably WAY too much, but sometimes I just need to get stuff done, need a break from her, or a few minutes of shut eye-yes minutes are all I get, because she loves to interrupt me and give me a play by play of the movie!
Well this happened the other day, but it happened again today and I just started laughing. We were watching Monsters Inc. a obvious favorite..and here is why. The beginning of the movie starts out with some new employees practicing their scare tactics. At this point Hailee starts repeating what the girl in the movie is saying...
can anyone tell me Mr. Bile's big mistake
lets see -ah ah ah ah right here (Hailee says ah ah ah...here)
the door, you left it wide open (Hailee: door)
and leaving the door open is the worst mistake any employee could make because... (open)
it could let in a draft? It could let in a child! (Hailee: child)

and so on and so on, it was really cute. But maybe a bad parenting that my 20 month old is reciting movies because she knows them so well? hmm?

On another note...
Valentines is long since over, but I had to post some pictures of Hailee's hard work getting her valentines ready. She was very meticulous about this project. Laying out the cards, then drawing on them, then picking them all up putting them in the box, only to dump them out and start the process all over again!

These delicious flowers weren't for Valentines, Heath brought them to me after I had Spencer-but boy were they yummy. I recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Better late than never-one week photos

When Hailee was one week old, my wonderful friend Kristi came and took a zillion pictures of her. With both of us working together, along with her mom and Heath, we had some great success!
I wanted to try and get some of Spencer at the same age-I had a lot of people here to help too, but it wasn't Kristi, and it just wasn't working. So I got a few I like, and I'll just have to deal with it!

I can't believe that my son is now already 3 weeks old-and he's so big. Hailee was 2 months old when she was his size so I feel like I've already missed so much, but he is still just a little baby-a big little baby!

Heath's big adventure

So this week my neighbor asked Heath if he would be willing to teach the cub scouts how to play chess for pack meeting. I was a little surprised at his willingness to participate.
However, back in June he purchased a Mega Chess set(the Kings are 2 ft. tall) with plans to build a chess board on our back patio.
He decided it would be great if he used these pieces to teach the kids. Great idea honey. Only one small problem...he didn't have a board. Well he was at work when all this went down, and I think it distracted him from getting anything done the rest of the day. He came home Thursday night and had to look online more to find just the right board. No luck. -they have some, but we weren't willing to pay the price!
(FYI if you want a really nice giant board, you can spend up to $800!)
Well on Friday night we went to Lowe's to check out our options that way, and we found a solution. But, Hailee was in need of a major diaper change and we had no diapers-so we decided to sleep on the idea and come back Saturday.
We ended up purchasing stick on tiles and particle board and spent Saturday night peeling and sticking.
Here is the final result...
Heath is so excited to finally be able to play with his pieces!

Latest update

Hailee went to the doctor on Thursday for her 18 month appt.
SHe is doing well. He was very impressed with her abilities, as am I. I think sometimes that she is growing up too fast!
Her stats are

33 1/2 inches-93%
24.8 lbs-50%
47 7/8 head-80%

So from this information we can gather that she is tall and skinny and smart! Oh how we love her!

I went the doctor on Friday (today) and he said I was dilated to a 3 almost a 4. Not effaced and his head still had to drop a bit-but hey that's progress. He could come anytime!

More info to come, I'm sure!
